The AVFD is an all volunteer, non-profit organization whose primary goal is to
provide fire and Ems coverage to the residents of Alburgh. The AVFD is also the primary ambulance service to the residents
of Isle LaMotte. The organization was chartered in 1968 and has since been in operation. The AVFD is unique in
that it is not owned by the town. The AVFD is owned and operated by all of the members who belong to the organization.
The AVFD belongs to the Clinton County Mutual aid Association as well as the Grand Isle County
Mutual aid Association.
